About Us – Who we are
Field-Tested Event Logistics
If you are looking for a flexible transport solution for event logistics, you’ve come to the right place.
We come directly from the event industry and know the backstage chaos from our own experience: tight schedules, long walking distances, loading chaos, and far too much Tetris in the truck.
That is exactly why we founded Cargo Cart. Our mission:
To make event logistics easier, faster, and more efficient.
So we started developing our own systems: modular, well-thought-out, and built for the real daily grind on tour, in the warehouse, and during setup.
This is how Cargo Carts were born: flexible transport solutions for event technology, trade fair construction, and productions. What began as a solution to our own problems is now a modern logistics system for agencies, rental companies, and event service providers.
Today, we develop and produce our systems in Lünen — Made in Germany and built for modern event logistics.
Why
Anyone working in event logistics knows: theory doesn’t build a stage. Under time pressure, with changing locations and complex productions, you need solutions that perform in everyday life, not just in a product catalog.
That is exactly what our Cargo Carts were developed for.
Our carts optimize transport, storage, and handling processes in event logistics. They reduce time and personnel requirements, improve workflows, and can be flexibly adapted to different projects and conditions.
Unlike flight cases or Euro pallets, these are not individual containers, but a modular transport and organization system on wheels. As a result, Cargo Carts make handling much easier and more ergonomic than traditional solutions. Or to put it another way: less heavy lifting. Less improvising. More structure throughout the entire workflow.
The difference lies primarily in our approach. We don’t develop behind a desk; we develop based on field experience, for people who disassemble at night, drive on in the morning, and still have to deliver during the day.
The result: solutions that solve real problems and measurably improve workflows in event logistics.
Our Philosophy and Values
Logistics is rarely visible or the star of a production. But when it goes poorly, everyone notices immediately. Our goal is therefore clear: make event logistics easier. Faster. More efficient. Without unnecessary bells and whistles.
We believe that high-quality logistics solutions don’t have to be complicated: reliable and flexible in use, intuitive to handle, and efficient throughout the entire process. Even when things get hectic at the venue again.
Our products are created by professionals, for professionals. Every function, every detail, and every further development is based on real requirements from events, trade fair construction, and production.
In doing so, we never compromise on quality. High-quality materials, robust designs, and durable systems ensure that our Cargo Carts perform reliably even under demanding conditions.
At the same time, our transport cart system remains as flexible as possible. Modular in design, individually expandable, and adaptable to a wide variety of productions, from small setups to complex tour logistics.
Our goal is to develop one of the most effective and well-thought-out systems for modern event logistics. That’s why we are continuously working on new functions, expanding our systems, and challanging existing standards.
Our History
How Cargo Cart Changed Event Logistics
Cargo Cart arose from a problem everyone in event logistics knows: cases that are too heavy, too much fiddling around, and a lack of a system. Traditional flight cases and pallets were the standard for a long time—but in the real world of daily production, they were often more of a hindrance than a solution.
The year 2002 marked the start of an idea that was intended to put an end to exactly that. No more cases. No more games of Tetris in the truck. Instead, a modular, rolling transport system that thinks ahead.
In 2007, the first prototype took shape in the workshop. Still raw, still wild, but with a clear mission: move material faster, more safely, and in a way that’s easier on the back.
In 2008, the first Cargo Cart rolled into real productions. The patent was granted in 2010 — and an idea became a protected system for mobile, flexible event logistics that redefines structure, speed, and efficiency.
Since then, Cargo Cart has continued to grow with every real-world challenge. Developed not in a vacuum, but where it counts: between the warehouse, the ramp, the truck, and the stage.
Our Story – The History of Cargo Cart
Logistics in event technology is stuck. The flight case dominates the scene, and without Tetris experience, strong back muscles, and a lot of money for custom cases, no truck door in the country gets closed.
But in a small village on the edge of the Ruhr area, resistance is brewing against the reign of terror of the flight case.
In a workshop in the Fürstenhof, the spark for a revolution has been lit...
Video recordings of swearing loading masters, groaning stagehands, and personal experiences haunt Ingo's sleep at night: "What do I have to do?" So far, all the designs from the head of a small elite unit for event technology have led to a dead end and are reminiscent of you-know-what.
A fresh start and new considerations are inevitable...
In record time, Ingo becomes the largest private buyer of pencils and drawing paper. Slowly, the first breakthrough seems within reach.
The new system is to have a uniform external dimension, putting an end to the game of Tetris when loading. The interior, on the other hand, is to be large enough so that material can be stowed conveniently and flexibly. But how can the user's health be protected?
Again, countless nights pass without answers or sleep.
The windows are covered, the fluorescent lights are glaring, and sawdust lies like a second skin over the small development team. The first prototype of the new logistics system sees the light of day. But what should the child be named?
In memory of the first advanced transport system over 4,000 years ago—the cart—and with reference to the internationally valid term for loading goods—cargo—the offspring gets its name: Year 0 after Cargo Cart has begun.
For the first time, the Cargo Cart sees daylight. Not only does its imposing figure put the flight case in the shade, but its simple handling also draws the first admiring glances. But the audience remains skeptical. Who is the newcomer?
New efforts are needed to make the underdog socially acceptable. In addition to the welding machine and saw table, the marketing machine is also revved up for the first time.
...what if the Cargo Cart were fitted with a robust steel frame instead of solid side walls?
A more open Cargo Cart could also accommodate bulky materials, which would still be protected by the frame.
Once again, the light in the workshop glows late into the night and new blueprints are created to free the trade fair industry from the clutches of the pallet.
The very first big appearance of Cargo Cart in front of thousands of visitors at Prolight + Sound in Frankfurt. The brakes almost locked up from excitement, but in the end, everything worked out: the first supporters were won over and Cargo Cart gained momentum.
The first Cargo Cart is delivered. It is a Cargo Cart 1.0, has two shelves on board, and finds a new home base in Leverkusen.
In the same month, the first Cargo Cart 2.0 is also redeployed.
The campaign has begun – From Werne to the world!
PISA studies and IQ tests have made many doubt, but Cargo Cart has the proof: Germany is still the land of thinkers. Extensive feedback and suggestions from the Cargo Cart community have made the new accessory series what characterizes Cargo Cart: being effective, fast, and simple.
The Cargo Cart product range is growing, and with it, the Cargo Cart community. Cargo Cart says thank you!
The time has come: Cargo Cart is having offspring. After a long wait, it's finally time and two new Cargo Carts see the light of day for the first time.
This adds two new system types to the Cargo Cart product range to be even more flexible, faster, and more effective with Cargo Cart.
The logistics industry breathes a sigh of relief. Thanks to the extensive feedback, new products have been created that make it possible to respond to even more requirements with Cargo Cart.
“Curtain up – and demand is picking up!” With the comeback of events, sales of Cargo Carts are also skyrocketing.
More and more organizers are relying on the proven mix of stability and flexibility. Cargo Cart rolls back into the spotlight – and this time with great applause.
The areas of application are expanding: in addition to events, industry, trade fairs, and film productions are also discovering Cargo Carts for themselves.
A milestone – the products are becoming the all-purpose solution for mobile and safe transport.
Redefined – no longer just for stages, but for everyone who needs to move heavy loads. Cargo Cart is becoming the all-purpose solution – and thus a true industry standard.
At the same time, the team is developing new product lines: special attachments, modular expansions for better workflows.
Stability has always been the foundation; now intelligence is being added. The team is improving the Cargo Carts, which makes daily work easier and makes loading and handling even more efficient.
At the same time, partnerships are being formed with key players in the industry.
Cargo Cart continues to evolve: from a simple tool to a networked partner in everyday event and logistics life.
